About

The business is owned by historian and tour guide Frank Baldwin.

He has been working as a battlefield historian and guide since 1989. He has taken groups and individuals on over 200 tours covering military history from Caesar to the Cold War. He has guided groups from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the USA. As a battlefield historian he has supported dozens of battlefield studies and staff rides. He was one of the few non academic historians that supported the high level Op Reflect Army Staff Rides to commemorate the centenary of the Frist World War.

A retired major in the Royal Artillery he is the author of the Regimental history of the Royal Artillery in the Normandy Campaign, and is currently working on two further works on artillery in the world wars. He wrote three chapters on the British Army Guide to the Battlefields of the Western Front and a chapter in The Darker Side of Tourism on battlefield tourism. He is a member of the British Commission for Military History.

He was Chair of the Battlefields Trust for six years and oversaw the archaeological project that rediscovered the Bosworth battlefield.

Frank holds Badge No 8 of the Guild of Battlefield Guides and is a Liberation Route Europe Guide.

Operation Reflect Army Staff Ride 2018
